For more than 12 years now, we’ve been building a library of recorded hymns for churches to use should they not have an organist available. We have a growing list of more than 400 hymns, that we have recorded live, for several denominations.
We use the same hymnal that you sing from to make sure you get the right number of verses. If we do not have yours in our library, you may send us one to make sure we have the exact one that you have.
Some customers send us a list of hymns weekly, others have asked us to record 20-30 at a time. Regardless of the number of hymns, we record exactly as requested.
Hymns can vary a great deal from one denomination to the other. Differences in key signature, harmonic structure, number of stanzas, length of intro, and use of sung “Amen” after the last stanza, are all variables. And perhaps your church has requested 3 stanzas instead of the 5 which are in the hymnal. We have a large spreadsheet file to keep track of all this so that you get hymns that are consistent for accompanying your congregational singing.
Hymns for funerals we can send by email often the same day you request them.
Organist/Directors often order MIDI files of choral accompaniments so that they may have their hands free to conduct the choir.
The process:
Hymns are recorded live using a simple flute stop, and saved to a thumb drive.
We then insert the thumb drive into our computer, to edit the files using a MIDI Event Editor.
Bruno Di Gleria's MIDIKIT Event Editor has been enhanced by some useful additions that work well with editing Rodgers Organ MIDI files. We appreciate his work!
When complete, we email them to you.
When you ‘play’ them through the organ in your church, you set your stops or pistons as you choose. If you are not an organist, we will help you set up your stops so that you will have a variety of stop settings (sounds) to use when playing the hymns. The volume (expression) pedals let you fine tune the volume for the singing that day.
Once again, we will assist you in getting these hymns working nicely on your organ.
We are also developing an organ music library as well for you to use.
The current charge per hymn is $15.
